Dear @Aidana Tazhmamatova,
I understand how frustrating it is to encounter the "This account is not supported" error in the new Outlook for Windows, especially after your Microsoft 365 Business Standard subscription was successfully restored.
Since Microsoft 365 Business Standard fully includes desktop application rights, your licenses are correct. However, while Outlook on the web and Classic Outlook dynamically fetch updated subscription states, the new Outlook for Windows heavily relies on local app cache tokens. When your subscription was temporarily suspended, a restriction token was cached locally. Even though the subscription is active again, the app is still reading that old, stale token.
To force the new Outlook for Windows to recognize your restored licenses, you need to clear the local app data. Please have your users perform one of the following steps:
Method 1: Reset the App via Windows Settings
- Close the new Outlook app entirely.
- Open Windows Settings (Win + I) > Apps > Installed apps.
- Scroll down to Outlook (New), click the three dots, and select Advanced options.
- Scroll down and click Repair first. If the error persists, click Reset.
(Note: Reset clears the app's local state and forces a fresh login check, which pulls the restored license status.)
Please refer to this document: Repair apps and programs in Windows
Method 2: Force-Clear Cache via DevTools
- Press Windows + R on your keyboard to open the Run dialog box.
- Type or paste the following command and press Enter:
olk.exe --devtools - Outlook will open along with a DevTools window on the side.
- In the DevTools panel, go to the Application tab (or Network tab).
- Expand Storage / Cookies, right-click on (https://outlook.office.com/), and select Clear (or right-click the requests table and choose Clear browser cache).
- Restart the application normally.
Once the cached subscription status has been cleared, please remove and reassign the subscription; the application will re-validate the active Business Standard license with Entra ID, and access will be restored.
Please let me know if this resolves the issue for your user.
