I know this may sound nostalgic, but Skype Classic (Skype 7) was more than just an old version of a messenger. It had a unique atmosphere — simple, fast, personal, and warm. It felt like a real communication tool, not a corporate platform. Many people still miss it, and entire communities exist today that keep the old client alive in offline mode, because the official servers are gone.

Recently, I managed to restore an offline session of Skype 7 on my computer. Seeing the old interface again — the classic contact list, the familiar call window, even the Echo Test Service — brought back memories I thought were lost forever. It reminded me how special Skype used to feel.

I am not asking to replace the modern Skype. I am asking for an option — a “Legacy Mode,” a standalone offline client, or even an open‑sourced version of the classic UI. Something that preserves the experience that meant so much to millions of users.

The fact that old chats and profiles can still be opened in offline mode shows how meaningful this software was. Please consider giving users a way to relive that experience officially. There are many of us who would truly appreciate it.

And if our voices are not heard, we will not stop. We will continue working, researching, and reverse‑engineering — days, nights, even years if needed — because we will do everything we can to bring Skype Classic back.

Thank you for the hint! We really hope that Microsoft will hear our requests and Skype 7 will be returned, I know one community in Discord about Skype, there are 3,000 people who want Skype 7 back. Do we have any chances?
