Создание каналов с ограниченным доступом внутри команды для конфиденциальных обсуждений или проектов
Hi Maksym,
Thank you for posting your question on the Microsoft Q&A forum.
In this situation, when you are unable to archive a private channel in Microsoft Teams, especially when the option “Make the SharePoint folder read-only for team members” is selected, you may want to check the following points:
1/ Check the private channel SharePoint site
Each private channel has its own site in Microsoft SharePoint, and Teams needs to modify permissions there when the read-only option is enabled.
- Go to Microsoft Teams > the Private Channel > Files tab.
- Click Open in SharePoint.
- Verify that:
- The site loads normally.
- You have Owner permissions.
- The Members group exists and has access.
- If permissions appear to be incorrect, you may ask a SharePoint admin to:
- Open the SharePoint Admin Center.
- Go to Active sites.
- Locate the private channel site
- Check Permissions and ensure:
- Channel Owners: Owners group
- Channel Members: Members group
- After confirming this, try archiving the channel again.
2/ Verify site permission groups
- In SharePoint, click Settings.
- Select Site permissions.
- Choose Advanced permission settings.
- Check that the following groups are present with the expected role - Private Channel Owners: Full Control - Private Channel Members: Edit
3/ Confirm the SharePoint Site is fully initialized
Sometimes the SharePoint site for a private channel is not fully initialized, especially if the Files tab has never been opened.
You can try the following:
- Open the private channel in Teams.
- Select the Files tab.
- Wait for the SharePoint library to load.
- Upload a small test file.
- Try archiving the channel again.
This process helps ensure the SharePoint document library is properly provisioned.
4/ Try archiving from the Teams browser
You can try performing the archive operation using the Teams web version to check if it works or not
5/ Archiving without the Read-Only option.
- Start the archive process again.
- Uncheck the option: “Make the SharePoint folder read-only for team members.”
- If the archive succeeds without this option, you can later set the folder to Read-only manually in the SharePoint permissions.
-
If the issue persists, it is possible that the private channel SharePoint site is corrupted. You may consider:
- Exporting or downloading the files from the channel.
- Creating a new private channel.
- Uploading or moving the files to the new channel.
I hope the information above is helpful. If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out.
