Hello.
I have encountered incorrect behavior of the Microsoft Edge browser when working with a new tab page.
The situation is as follows:
when opening a new tab, a standard page with a selection of sites (sitelinks) is displayed. When I click on one of the suggested sites, the selected site opens in a new tab, while the site selection tab remains open. As a result, instead of the expected one tab with the site, two tabs are obtained, although it is logical that the site opens in the same tab from which the selection was made (so that, if necessary, the user can quickly open another site).
At the same time:
on a laptop with the same version of Windows 11 Home and the same Microsoft Edge, websites open correctly in the same tab.;
The browser version is the same on both devices.;
the Edge settings have been checked and match;
the influence of extensions is excluded;
resetting the default settings did not solve the problem.
Tell me, please:
is this behavior a known feature or a bug?;
is there a setting that affects opening websites from a new tab page;
is it possible to return the opening of the site in the current tab, and not in the new one?
I will be grateful for your help and recommendations.
Thank you.

Hi,
I believe the new tab page has a separate option to either open links to new tab or not. You can open the Page settings which you can find on the upper left corner of the new tab page and turn off this option. Any links within the new tab page (Quick Links or news articles) should open in the current tab once this option is off.
