Azure Database for MySQL flexible server: Subscription restriction in Brazil South — Unable to provision in the region

Problem description

I am trying to create an Azure Database for MySQL flexible server in the Brazil South region through the Azure portal, but the provisioning is blocked. The portal returns the error: 'Subscription 'Pago pelo Uso' is not allowed to provision in 'Brazil South'.' Changing the region allows the process to continue, but it does not meet my requirement to place the server in the same virtual network as an existing SQL deployment.

Environment

Service: Azure Database for MySQL flexible server; Deployment method: Azure portal; Intended region: Brazil South; Relevant design requirement: server must be in the same VNet as existing SQL deployment; Server tier/SKU: not specified in case.

What I've already tried

On 2026-10-01, I attempted to create the MySQL flexible server in Brazil South from the Azure portal and received the error. I then changed the target region, and the portal proceeded in other regions, indicating the issue is specific to Brazil South. I have not tried any other troubleshooting steps or configurations beyond this.

Current status

The creation is still being blocked by the subscription/region restriction message in Brazil South. Selecting different regions allows the workflow to proceed, but does not satisfy the requirement to use the same virtual network. I am seeking guidance on how to resolve this subscription-level restriction to enable provisioning in Brazil South while meeting my network placement needs.

    Olá,

    Bem-vindo à Comunidade Microsoft Azure.

    Boa tarde, @FabioDias-0255 . Obrigado por entrar em contato conosco e detalhar seu cenário. Pelo erro reportado, o problema parece estar relacionado a uma restrição aplicada à assinatura para esse recurso/região, e não à configuração da VNet.

    Como o provisionamento funciona ao selecionar outras regiões, vale confirmar primeiro se a assinatura está autorizada a criar o Azure Database for MySQL Flexible Server em Brazil South. Alterar a VNet ou o SKU provavelmente não resolverá uma restrição desse nível.

    Recomendo verificar Assinatura -> Provedores de recursos e, principalmente, abrir um ticket de suporte em Ajuda + suporte, informando:

    • nome e ID da assinatura;
    • região Brazil South;
    • serviço Azure Database for MySQL Flexible Server;
    • mensagem completa do erro;
    • data e horário da tentativa;
    • SKU escolhido;
    • requisito de manter o serviço na mesma VNet.

    Se a restrição for específica da assinatura, somente o suporte do Azure poderá confirmar o motivo e verificar se a região pode ser habilitada para esse recurso.

    Como o objetivo é manter a conectividade com uma VNet existente, eu não recomendaria simplesmente mudar a região antes de esclarecer essa restrição, pois isso pode criar uma arquitetura diferente da necessária.

    Boa sorte
