Can’t activate Microsoft Fabric Free – personal account blocked

Hello,

I’m trying to activate Microsoft Fabric Free with my account,

but I receive the message: “This looks like a personal email address.”

I’m learning Power BI and Microsoft Fabric as part of my professional upskilling (Presales / BI Consulting).

How can I make it going without company email?

In this case, please kindly allow me to provide some information:

If your tenant was created recently (within the last few days), Microsoft may impose restrictions on Fabric trials for new accounts. Kindly confirm the tenant’s creation date with your IT team. Microsoft imposing restrictions to activate Fabric Trail for newly created tenants/work accounts. If your tenant created recently (which is less than 90days) you need to wait till 90 days completion.
Fabric trials may not be available in certain regions due to regional restrictions. Kindly ensure that your tenant’s home region supports trial activation. Fabric region availability
Microsoft Fabric usually requires a work or school account for many of its features, including activation. Therefore, personal email addresses generally don't meet this requirement.

Thanks for the pointers. To clarify: I don’t have an organizational tenant yet, only a personal Microsoft account (******@outlook.com). I attempted to join the Microsoft 365 Developer Program to obtain the E5 instant sandbox, but my dashboard shows “You don’t currently qualify for a sandbox”. Could you please escalate this to the Microsoft 365 Developer Program team to manually provision an E5 developer sandbox (onmicrosoft.com) for me?

I’m currently in a career transition and preparing for a new role focused on Business Intelligence and Presales Consulting, where Microsoft Fabric and Power BI are required skills. Having access to a developer environment would allow me to build practical demos, reports, and case studies as part of my professional preparation.

If the 90-day restriction applies to brand-new tenants, could you please advise how I can proceed (or create a dev tenant eligible for Fabric Free)?

Alternative approach: You may instruct the team to create a trial tenant, which provides a total of three months of trial access:

First month: included by default.

Second month: navigate to the Subscription page and select Extend trial.

Third month: submit a support ticket so that the billing team can review and approve the extension.

Below is the procedure for creating a trial tenant:

Visit the Microsoft 365 Enterprise Plans page: Go to Compare Office 365 Enterprise Pricing and Plans | Microsoft 365.

Choose a plan and start a free trial: Select any of the available plans and click "Try for free" to begin the trial setup process.

Follow the guided setup: Complete the steps to create a new Microsoft account and a new tenant. This will be a separate and independent Microsoft 365 environment.

Access the Microsoft 365 Admin Center: Once the new tenant is created, navigate to https://admin.microsoft.com/Adminportal/Home?#/homepage

Important notes:

Remember to cancel the trial subscription for the new tenant once your issue with the original account is resolved to avoid any unintended charges. You can typically do this within the Microsoft 365 Admin Center under "Billing" > "Your products."
