• If one of the recovery keys or the password isn't functioning, try the other. There are situations where both approaches can still be effective.
- Try a Different USB Cable or Port:
• Your drive and the laptop may not be connecting properly. If necessary, try using a new cable or a different USB port to connect the drive.
- Examine the Drive Using a Different Computer:
• Check to see if the password or recovery key is recognized on another computer by connecting the drive, if at all possible. A malfunctioning system on your primary computer might occasionally result in issues
- Upgrade Windows:
• Make sure the security updates on your Windows system are up to date. Outdated patches may cause problems with BitLocker functionality.
- Employ the Recovery Tool for BitLockers:
• To unlock the drive, you can attempt using the manage-bde command:
1. Start the Command Prompt in Administrator mode.
2. Type the command below and hit Enter:
manage-bde -unlock D: -recoverypassword <your-recovery-key>
Put the 48-digit recovery key you printed out in place of <your-recovery-key>. This could get around problems with the graphical user interface (GUI).
