How to get rid of microsoft family safety

If you are the only person listed on the Family Safety webpage, this does not necessarily mean that you are part of a family group. When a Microsoft account is created, it may appear in Family Safety, allowing the account holder to add someone by selecting “Add a family member” or to join another family group.

The main issue appears to be the Family Safety pop-up asking you to request permission from a parent.

It usually appears when Microsoft recognizes the account as belonging to someone under 18 and therefore treats it as a child account. Please make sure the date of birth on your Microsoft account is correct by signing in and checking your profile settings here:

If the date of birth listed in your Microsoft account profile is correct and shows that you are above the statutory age in your country (18 in most countries), but you are still being asked for parental consent, try joining an adult family group. You can use another adult account to invite your account. Once joined, remove your account from the family group, then check whether this refreshes your account status and restores access to all Microsoft services.
