How to remove old device from security settings/2FA

Personal Microsoft account. Two-step verification is enabled. My old Xiaomi Mi A3 was discarded and is still listed as “Send sign-in notification”. I have other working verification methods. Removing the old device repeatedly returns “Something went wrong”. Please unregister the obsolete Microsoft Authenticator push device.

    How many other verification methods are currently listed besides the XiaoMi phone? Please make sure you have at least 2 others left before you remove anything.

    The error you received usually is server side temporary issue. Have you tried a different browser, or browser in incognito mode, or a different device? If you get consistent results, I am afraid you will have to wait as it is often temporary. a server-side.
