I performed all steps
- Did not make any difference
- I downloaded the WebView2 runtime, but during installation, a message was displayed stating that this app was already installed.
- In the folder %SystemRoot%\SysWOW64, there was no file with the name OneDriveSetup.exe. Alternatively, I removed the app the regular way, deleted all folders that I found with "onedrive." and cleaned the registry for remaining onedrive items. I had to restart in a troubleshooting mode because some OneDrive files remained inaccessible and had to remove them from the command prompt:
PS C:\Program Files\Microsoft OneDrive> tree /f Folder PATH listing for volume Windows Volume serial number is 9665-7D4E C:. ├───25.159.0817.0003 │ FileSyncShell64.dll │ ├───25.159.0817.0003_1 │ FileCoAuthLib64.dll │ └───25.174.0907.0003 FileSyncShell64.dll
I then downloaded the latest OneDrive setup and placed it in the %SystemRoot%\SysWOW64\ folder and executed the file from an elevated prompt. Again, the installation was terminated in the middle of the process without any warning and no user credentials were asked. No system tray icon is displayed, and when starting the app manually (even elevated), nothing happens.
There are no errors included in the text logs in C:\Program Files\Microsoft OneDrive\setup\logs or other entries that may point to installation issues or missing files.
Re %SystemRoot%\SysWOW64\OneDriveSetup.exe I do have several locations identified where a onedrivesetup.exe is located, for example:
- C:\Windows\WinSxS\amd64_microsoft-windows-onedrive-setup_31bf3856ad364e35_10.0.26100.1_none_2233e98c8e9ce5f5\OneDriveSetup.exe
- C:\Windows\WinSxS\amd64_microsoft-windows-onedrive-setup_31bf3856ad364e35_10.0.26100.5074_none_c1340e9ad5f0a5d0\r\OneDriveSetup.exe
- C:\Windows\System32\OneDriveSetup.exe
- C:\Windows\WinSxS\amd64_microsoft-windows-onedrive-setup_31bf3856ad364e35_10.0.26100.5074_none_c1340e9ad5f0a5d0\OneDriveSetup.exe
Any other thoughts that are worth a try?
