Hello

Does anyone have an idea or solution with the following:

This involves a number of devices that are fully managed ( Samsung KNOX and Intune ).

Making a shortcut on the home screen of the smartphone, of an excel document that is on a Teams site, so in the Teams app.

When choosing " add to home screen" the message comes: "Cannot be added to home screen".

Anyone have a suggestion?

Kind regards

Peter

    Hello Adeyemi

    Thanks for the feedback

Unfortunately this option 'Home Screen Shortcuts' is not present in the permissions list.

I can choose: Storage, Camera, Contacts, Location, Microphone and Phone. Nothing else. There is also no 'Other Permissions' present.

I tested this with "Storage" ... but the problem remains. ( "Cannot be added to home screen" )

These are Samsung Galaxy A20e devices with the latest android version possible 11.
    Version One UI = 3.1

The apps are also up to date.

    Any other suggestions?

    Kind regards

    Peter

    Hello

I’m Adeyemi and I’d be happy to help you with your question.

I understand that you're having trouble adding a shortcut to an Excel document from a Teams site to the home screen of your Android device. This can indeed be a frustrating issue.

Based on the information available, it seems like this might be a known issue with certain Android devices or versions. Here are a few steps you could try to resolve this issue:

    1. Check App Permissions: On your Android device, long press the Teams app icon, go to 'App info' > 'App Permissions' (or 'Other Permissions' in some devices), then tap 'Home Screen Shortcuts' option > Allow
    2. Update Your Apps: Ensure that both your Teams app and your Android system are updated to the latest version. Outdated versions can sometimes cause compatibility issues

    I hope this helps.
