I've recently installed Windows 10 on my desktop. I've tried connection to my LG smart tv but it won't show up in the connect tab. I'm connected through cable and have no extra adapters.
I also have a work laptop which uses Windows 10. This laptop can connect with my TV no problem. So the problem is not with the TV but with the Desktop.
I've done the following already:
I've checked the connect app and it says:
"DESKTOP is ready for you to connect wirelessly.
This device might have trouble displaying your content because its hardware wasn't specifically designed for wireless projection."
I also checked dxdiag and it says "Miracast: Available, with HDCP"
I've tried adding the tv through "Bluetooth and other devices" window. But it doesn't find it.
I've tried adding it through the "devices and printers" and then it find the TV as a "Digital media renderer" which seems ok. But once added, it does nothing. I can't do anything with the device.
Anyone know what is wrong here? Is there a hardware requirement for MiraCast?
Thanks
