How do I export the comments stored with elements of a sharepoint list?

My organisation has a sharepoint list of items that several people work on. To keep track of what each person have done, asked questions/replied to questions about the subject matter, etc., we have used the "Comment" button in the upper right corner of the dialog window for this information.
We are planning to move the content of this list to a different site, basically moving the content of the current list to a new list.

How do we also migrate the comments, or at least the information content of these comments?
Several hours trying out MS Graph Explorer got me nowhere.

I not sure of what version of MS Office 365 we are on, I am pretty sure we run SharePoint Modern.

    SharePoint modern list comments are stored separately from the list item fields and are not included when items are copied or recreated in a new list. Currently, there is no out-of-the-box method to migrate these comments while preserving the original conversation thread.
