Recovery of old chats in Co-pilot

I have an old chat title in Co-pilot that will not open or is inaccessible upon the updates that have emerged. Whenever i tried opening it. It results in saying 'We cannot open this chat. Try again' or 'Something went wrong with the chat', even though the titles are still clearly visible in Co-pilot. The chat title is called 'Aura and Semblance in RWBY'. I have already tried signing out/in and accessing the chats from different devices/browsers, however, nothing seems to work.

I would appreciate in recovering all the hundreds, if not thousands of messages that have been questioned, answered and received. Which has been built up since summer in 2025 to now.

    Hello Vonn Theodore Baltazar,

Since the same issue occurs across different browsers and devices, there may be no guaranteed way to reopen the original conversation, but you can try exporting your Copilot activity history to see whether a copy of the prompts and responses is still available.

    Please try these steps:

    1. Sign in to the Microsoft Privacy dashboard using the same account used in Copilot.
    2. Open Privacy > Empower your productivity > Copilot > Your Copilot app activity history.
    3. Under Copilot apps, select Export all activity history. If it was created in Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat, check Copilot in Microsoft 365 apps and select Export all Copilot Chat activity history.
    4. Open the downloaded CSV in Excel and search for Aura and Semblance in RWBY or a distinctive phrase from the conversation.
    5. To create a readable text copy, keep the relevant rows, then select File > Save As and choose Unicode Text (.txt).

Keep the original CSV as a backup and do not select Delete all activity history. Exporting will not repair the broken chat, but it may help recover the prompts and responses. If the conversation does not appear in the exported activity history, I’m afraid the possibility of recovering it may be limited.

Please let me know how it goes after trying these steps, and I'll be glad to continue looking into it with you.
