Microsoft account compromised – original alias removed

Hello,

My Microsoft/Hotmail account was compromised on 1 June 2026.

The account has been mine for approximately 20 years.

The attacker changed the password, deleted my security information, added a new alias and appears to have removed my original Hotmail address as a sign-in alias. My phone number was also changed.

I am now unable to use any recovery options because Microsoft reports that my original email address does not exist.

I have documentation showing:

  • Password change notification.
  • Security information deletion notification.
  • SMS notification confirming a new alias was added.
  • The original phone number that received the Microsoft security alerts.

The account was compromised on 1 June 2026 at approximately 23:00.

I am the legitimate owner of the account and would appreciate assistance in recovering it or having the case escalated for manual review.

Thank you.

Hey there! Nice to meet you!

I'm sorry you are experiencing this.

Since the security info has been replaced by the hacker, I'm afraid there is no other working method to recover the Microsoft account, and Microsoft Support cannot help either.

Please be advised that Microsoft Support will not be able to assist you with manual recovery, unblock, and escalation for this case, as stated in this article, that they are not permitted to send password resets, access, or even change any details on the account: https://support.microsoft.com/account-billing/help-with-the-microsoft-account-recovery-form-b19c02d1-a782-dee6-93c3-dc8113b20c42

    Thank you for your understanding.

    Best regards,

    Darhyl

    Additional information:

My Hotmail account was compromised on June 1, 2026.

Within a short period of time, I received Microsoft notifications confirming that:

    • The password had been changed.
    • Security information had been removed.
    • A passkey had been deleted.
    • A new email address (jf*****@ig****s.cc) had been added to the account.

I also received an SMS from Microsoft on my phone confirming that the new email address had been added.

I am now completely locked out of the account. When I attempt to sign in, Microsoft reports that my original Hotmail address is not a valid Microsoft account. Because of this, I am unable to use the normal account recovery process.

The attacker appears to have removed or replaced my original sign-in alias, which is why the account can no longer be found using my Hotmail address.

I have owned this account for approximately 20 years and I have screenshots documenting the unauthorized changes that occurred on June 1, 2026.

This is not a forgotten password issue. This is a documented account takeover.

Could a Microsoft moderator please review this case and advise whether it can be escalated for manual review?

    Thank you.

Unfortunately, the standard recovery form does not work because my original Hotmail address is no longer recognized as a valid sign-in address after the account takeover.
