I purchased Office Home 2024 (one-time license) for Mac. The license appears correctly on my Microsoft account, but Excel still shows “Activate Microsoft 365 to create and edit”. I have already reinstalled Office, deleted UBF8T346G9.Office and UBF8T346G9

Start by closing all Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook. Download the official Microsoft License Removal Tool and open the .pkg file from your Downloads folder to launch the installer.

Complete the installation process, and when the message confirms that the removal was successful, close the tool. Then open Word directly. At this point, the app should ask you to sign in. 

Make sure you log in using the same email address that was originally used to redeem the product key.

If the issue persists, it’s possible that the wrong edition of Office is installed. This commonly happens when Office apps are downloaded from the Mac App Store, as those versions often expect an active Microsoft 365 subscription rather than a one-time license. To fix this, remove the currently installed Office apps by moving them to the Trash. 

Next, visit account.microsoft.com/services and sign in. Locate your purchase, such as “Office Home & Business 2024” or “Home & Student,” and use the Install option provided there. This ensures you download the correct perpetual-license installer instead of the subscription-based version.
