Bruke nye Outlook på Windows for personlig e-post, kalender og kontaktbehandling
Hi,
Your description makes it sound like the PC just isn't downloading or syncing that third-party email account. The phone works fine. Outlook app does too. So the problem is probably right there in the Windows setup or the desktop Outlook thing. Could be network stuff. Credentials. Profile issues. Permissions. Maybe even a messed up cache.
Here's how I'd go about fixing it. Step by step.
- Check the connection and account status in Outlook or the New Outlook. In regular Outlook, go to account settings and look at the account status or connection status. In the New Outlook app, see if it shows the account as connected. Or if there's some error popping up. If Outlook says disconnected or working offline or cannot connect to server. That points you in the right direction.
- Try turning off any firewall or antivirus or network filtering for a bit. Some of that security software blocks Outlook's ports. Or it messes with authentication after an update. If sync starts up again once you disable it. Then you know that's the blocker in the chain.
- Clear or rebuild Outlook's local data or cache or that OST file. If it's an Exchange or IMAP account with a cached file like OST. Those can get corrupted sometimes. Just rename the OST file. Let Outlook build a new one. If new emails show up after you restart. That was likely the issue.
- Make a new Outlook profile. Or re-add the email account. Profiles can break from updates. Starting fresh fixes those hidden config problems. If the new profile works okay. The old one was damaged for sure.
- Look at Windows or Office credentials and token caches. In Windows Credential Manager. Check for old saved credentials for the mail server or Outlook. They might be corrupted. Also see if Office or Outlook needs to reauthenticate. Or refresh that OAuth token. If it prompts for credentials or fails to get the token. That's pointing to identity or auth troubles.
- Uninstall those recent Windows updates just to test. Windows lets you do that. Go to settings then Windows Update then update history and uninstall updates. If after pulling KB5064401 and KB5065426 the mail sync kicks in again. Those updates are the culprits. Be careful though. You lose the security patches. Only do it temporary for testing.
- Repair Office or Outlook. Do the online repair. From programs and features. Find Microsoft Office. Click change. Then repair and pick online. That can fix components updates broke. Might bring back DLLs or permissions Outlook needs.
- Check the logs in Event Viewer. Under application or Windows logs. Look for errors from Outlook or Office around mail syncing or authentication or network stuff. The error messages usually show the failing part. Like cannot connect to server. Or certificate invalid. Authorization failed.
- Look for updated patches or rollbacks from Microsoft or Office. They might have pushed a fix already. Through Windows Update or Office patches. Keep the system updated once it's stable. There could be a known issue rollback or hotfix out there.
Your inbox under other says request can't be completed right now. That sounds like a server side request failing. Some API or sync call. Not just a simple UI glitch. So it leans toward authentication or connectivity or token or API problems on the PC side.
