Hello Gorm,
Thank you for posting on the Microsoft Q&A Support Forum. I totally understand that you are having issues with your camera after an update, to further support you kindly provide the following information:
- Does your camera work in other apps?
- Are you using a built-in webcam or an external one?
- Did the update come from Windows Update or was it a driver update from the manufacturer?
However, in the interim here are steps to try for a resolution:
Update or Reinstall Camera Drivers: Press Windows + X > choose Device Manager Expand Imaging Devices or Cameras Right-click your camera > choose Update driver If that doesn’t help, try Uninstall device, then restart your PC to reinstall it automatically.
Check Camera Privacy Settings: Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera Make sure Camera access is turned on also ensure “Let apps access your camera” is enabled.
If the issue started right after a Windows update, then you need to Roll Back the Update.
Open Settings Press Windows + I to open the Settings app. Go to Update History Navigate to: Windows Update > Update history Find the Most Recent Update Scroll down and click “Uninstall updates” under Related settings. Select the Update to Remove Look for the most recent update and Click Uninstall next to it. Restart your PC after uninstalling, restart your computer and test Windows Hello again.
I hope this helps with your concern.
Best Regards,
