Hello,
thanks for the quick reply. I have been experiencing this observation on and off for the last year approx, cannot recreate today. This observation does not happen in the Onenote Desktop App. I will start to use Onenote in Microsoft Chromium Edge in stead, to rule out that it is not the Google Chrome browser spelling autocorrect overriding the Onenote Auto correct.
Notes on the actual observation, if somebody else also will experience this in the future.
- Writing this in English as the translation above in the following sentence does not match what I asked: "Dette bør forhindre at engelsk stavekontroll korrigerer vanlige bokmålsord til nynorsk i OneNote Online-appen." The actual observation is not that English Auto Correct corrects Norwegian (Bokmål) to Norwegian (Nynorsk) as written above.
What happens:
Norwegian (Bokmål) in the online version corrects commonly used Norwegian (Bokmål) words to another spelling language, Norwegian (Nynorsk).
For example:
|
Work written in with Norwegian (Bokmål) |
Is corrected to another language Norwegian (Nynorsk) |
What is expected |
| 01 |
hva |
kva |
hva |
| 02 |
sammen |
saman |
sammen |
| 03 |
jeg |
eg |
jeg |
This does not happen on the Windows Onenote desktop app (Onenote for Windows 10).
As you can imagine, trying to write sentences and having key works like "I" and "what" corrected to another language can be quite distracting. What I would expect is that the Norwegian (Bokmål) auto correct works as intended, and did not correct common words that are written correctly into another language.
2.
Reg. workaround: When the observation occurs, it is also not possible to tick off "Don't check spelling" for more than approx 5-10 seconds. This means it is not possible to use workaround, because by the next sentence commonly used words are corrected back to Norwegian (Nynorsk), even though Norwegian (Bokmål) was checked and "Don't check spelling" was activated by checkbox. When right clicking and selecting "Set Proofing Language", the checkbox on "Don't check spelling" is unchecked, even though it was checked some seconds previous. Ergo these two observation happen at the same time, which makes trying to write a sentence without writing Norwegian (Nynorsk) in otherwise Norwegian (Bokmål) sentences impossible, as the autocorrect corrects every one of these words and it is impossible to turn auto correct off.
Best,
Isabelle
