Sound control panel - can i make it easier to access (the old way)?

after recent updates it's a bit annoying to open the sound control panel, first you must open sound settings down on the right and then click open sound control panel and i do prefer using this over the new fresh looking sound settings because it's easier to tell audio sources apart plus more options, and i often switch audio sources and unplug/plug in different sources and i find myself wasting a lot of time on this.

At this point i am tempted to make a bat file to open it and have it on my desktop but that would look too tacky.

Any suggestions to make it easily accessible without having to click through 3 things, can i make it a shortcut in the bottom right menu somehow?

Hi Ken,

This is Wil, one of the independent advisor, an expert with Windows 10 and a fellow Windows 10 user like you. I understand your concern about shortcut for Sound Control Panel.

You can actually create a shortcut for it that you can place on the desktop. Follow the steps below:

Open Control Panel
Change view by to Large icons
Right-click on Sound and click on "Create Shortcut"
You will receive a prompt to place a shortcut on Desktop, just click on Yes and you will have a shortcut on your desktop to access the Sound Control Panel right away.
