GmailアプリへのOutlook.com追加時、IMAPは成功するがSMTP認証に失敗する / IMAP works but SMTP authentication fails

個人用の @outlook.com アカウントをiPhoneのGmailアプリに追加しようとしています。

Outlook.com側で「IMAPの使用を許可する」はONにしています。

Gmailアプリでは

・IMAP：接続しました

・SMTP：ユーザー名またはパスワードが正しくありません

となり、SMTPだけ失敗します。

Outlook.comの設定にはIMAPを許可する項目はありますが、SMTP AUTHを許可する項目が見当たりません。

個人用Outlook.comでは、SMTP AUTHをユーザー側で有効にする方法はありますか？また、この症状は既知の問題でしょうか？

I am trying to add a personal @outlook.com account to the Gmail app on iPhone.

In Outlook.com settings, "Let devices and apps use IMAP" is enabled.

In the Gmail app:

• IMAP: Connected successfully
• SMTP: "Username or password is incorrect"

IMAP works, but SMTP authentication fails.

I can find a setting to enable IMAP in Outlook.com, but I cannot find any setting to enable SMTP AUTH.

Is there any way for a user to enable SMTP AUTH for a personal Outlook.com account?

Or is this a known issue?

This is a personal Outlook.com account, not a Microsoft 365 business account.
