macOS 12.6.3, MacBook Pro 16" 2019

I have multiple Edge.apps on the same macOS and am confused. Is there any way to avoid creating multiple Edges?

Normally, Microsoft Edge.app is under /Applications and that is all there should be.

However, Edge is also installed in the following location

/Users/username/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/EdgeUpdater/apps/msedge-stable/110.0.1587.49/Microsoft Edge.app

The version of Microsoft Edge.app in /Applications is 110.0.1587.50.

What is wrong is that when I try to open an HTML file or a .webloc file from the contextual menu, I see multiple Edges. I am fine with one or the other.

Does anyone know the cause and how to prevent this from happening again?

Edge はシステムコンテキストでもユーザーコンテキストでもインストール可能なので、その両方がインストールされているのでは？

どちらかをアンインストールすれば良いのではないかと思いますが。

ご返信ありがとうございます。

そう思って Library/Application Support/以下のEdgeを削除しましたが、しばらくして、また現れました。

ディレクトリ名から、おそらくアップデータだと思いますが、こちらから起動してもMicrosoftアカウントでサインインした状態です。

設定ファイルは同じところを読んでいるのか？

素直にダウンロードフォルダなどに有れば簡単に削除できるのですが、場所が場所だけに面倒です。

アップデータをここに置かない、またはアップデート後にすぐに削除するなどの設定はありますか？
