My Minecraft Account got stolen by a Hacker, he changed the email and i realised too late and lost my Account. Today i decided to purchase Minecraft again on a different account. I go to reinstall my Launcher and as i open it it prompts to "Verify your Email" in which i have to verify the Email of my old Account which got hacked so i dont have access to the Email linked to it. ive tried everything possible and even somehow found a way to chat to a microsoft technician but it wasnt of any help. Now i am desperate and feel like i wasted 30 Dollars for nothing. What should i do? i dont have access to any of the 2 Emails i have to "verify" since it's the Email linked to my Old hacked Account that was changed by the Hacker.

    Hi Anthony,

I understand how frustrating this is, especially after already losing the original account and then paying again only to be blocked by the launcher. You did not do anything wrong here, and this is a known edge case with how the Minecraft Launcher stores account information locally.

What is happening is not that your new purchase is invalid, but that the Minecraft Launcher is still tied to the old, compromised Microsoft account on your computer. The launcher caches account tokens and profile data locally. Even though you bought Minecraft again with a different Microsoft account, the launcher keeps trying to verify the old account’s email, which you no longer control, and it never properly switches context.

This is why you are repeatedly prompted to “verify your email” for the hacked account and cannot proceed.

The fix is to completely remove all traces of the old Minecraft / Microsoft sign-in from your system and then sign in fresh with the new account.

First, uninstall the Minecraft Launcher from Windows Settings → Apps → Installed apps. After uninstalling, you must also delete the remaining local data, because uninstalling alone does not remove cached account information. Open File Explorer and manually delete these folders if they exist:

    C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.4297127D64EC6_*

    C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming.minecraft

If you do not see AppData, enable “Hidden items” in File Explorer.

Next, open Credential Manager from the Windows Control Panel. Under Windows Credentials and Generic Credentials, remove anything related to Minecraft, Xbox, Xbl, MicrosoftAccount, or the email address of the hacked account. This ensures Windows is no longer silently trying to reuse old authentication tokens.

After that, restart your PC. This step matters, because Windows reloads credential services on boot.

Now download the Minecraft Launcher again directly from the official Minecraft.net site or from the Microsoft Store, but do not sign in automatically if prompted. When the launcher opens, explicitly choose to sign in with your new Microsoft account that you used to repurchase Minecraft. At this point, the email verification prompt for the old account should no longer appear, because the launcher no longer knows that account exists.

If the launcher still insists on the old email even after all of the above, the most reliable workaround is to create a new Windows user profile, sign into that profile, install the launcher there, and sign in with the new Microsoft account. A new Windows profile has no cached tokens at all, so it will always respect the new purchase.
