Hello, i'm having trouble with "collections" not with "favorites". Syncronization is working but when i press on a collections item nothing happens (on mobile / Android). I also can add a "collections" folder but i can't add items. On Windows 11 Edge everything works fine. I have also tried Edge beta and canary, but the issue is the same, and i also tried delete and reinstall apps.

    Hello, carlo bortolami

    Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A

Thanks for your feedback. I read your description of the problem and I understand the problem. You mentioned that the favorites feature in Edge is not working.

According to past user feedback, this problem is usually not on your phone, but on the "communication handshake" between your ** device and Microsoft's cloud synchronization server.

The most common reason is that the synchronization state between your phone and the cloud is "stuck" on an inconsistent node. This may happen during a network switch, an app update, or a short server maintenance. As a result, your phone cannot correctly pull the latest favorites data from the cloud or push local changes up.

In order to synchronize quickly, the app will cache a "token" for authentication locally. This token sometimes expires for various reasons, causing the app to show that it is logged in, but it actually loses the right to communicate securely with the server.

Don't worry, I suggest you try the following methods to troubleshoot the error, which may help your current problem.

    Method 1: Force manual synchronization

    • Open Edge for Android. Click the three dots ... menu button at the bottom of the screen.
    • Click your avatar or username to go to your account settings.
    • Click Sync. You'll see a button that says Sync now or a circular refresh icon. Click it.
    • Give it a few moments (about 30 seconds to a minute), then return to your favorites page to see if they reappear.

Option 2: Sign back into your Microsoft account. If forcing a sync doesn't work, the next step is to completely disconnect and reestablish your connection to Microsoft's servers.

Important: Before you do this, make sure your favorites are complete and correct on Edge on your computer. This will clear your local browser data on your phone.

    • Go to Edge's settings (via the ... menu).
    • Click your account info at the top.
    • Select Sign out and turn off sync. The app will warn you that your local data will be removed, so confirm that.
    • Close the Edge app completely (by removing it from your recent apps list). Wait a minute, then reopen Edge.
    • Sign back into your Microsoft account and turn sync back on.
    • Please be patient. The app will take some time (maybe up to 5-10 minutes, depending on the size of your collection and network conditions) to re-download all the data from the cloud to your phone.

Method 3: Clear the app cache. If the problem persists after logging in again, there may be a problem with the local cache files.

    • Open your phone's system settings.
    • Go to "Apps" or "Application management".
    • Find and click "Microsoft Edge". Select "Storage & cache".
    • First click "Clear cache".
    • Then return to Edge to see if the problem is solved. If it doesn't work, you can return to this page and click "Clear storage" or "Clear data".
    • Please note that this is equivalent to restoring Edge to factory settings, and you need to log in again and sync all data, which is similar to the effect of option 2.

If the problem persists, you can consider joining the beta testing program for Edge in the Google Play Store. Beta versions usually get fixes for these types of sync issues earlier.

In the meantime, I recommend you report the issue immediately via the "Send Feedback" feature within the Edge app. This is very important as it will send your app's logs and diagnostic data directly to Microsoft's engineering team, which is critical to locating and resolving the root cause of this stubborn sync bug.

    Best regards
