Outlook.com “Events from email” no longer recognizes Ryanair flight confirmations

Hello,

I am experiencing an issue with the Outlook.com “Events from email” feature.

The feature is enabled and works correctly with Wizz Air booking confirmations: Outlook recognizes the flight and shows the “View in calendar” option.

However, current Ryanair itinerary emails sent from **[Moderator note: PII ****@ryanair.com] are not recognized and no calendar event is created.

I compared a working Wizz Air message with a non-working Ryanair message.

The Ryanair message is correctly authenticated:

  • SPF: PASS
  • DKIM: PASS
  • DMARC: PASS
  • From / Return-Path: [Moderator note: PII ******@ryanair.com]

Outlook also classifies the Ryanair message with the keyword “Flight confirmation”.

The main technical difference I found is the MIME structure:

Wizz Air (working): Content-Type: text/html; charset="utf-8"

Ryanair (not working): Content-Type: multipart/alternative

One of the Ryanair MIME parts is declared as: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8"

but after Base64 decoding, that part actually contains a complete HTML document.

Outlook Web displays the email correctly, but the Events from Email parser does not extract the flight details.

Since Wizz Air works correctly on the same Outlook.com account, this appears to be a parsing compatibility issue with the current Ryanair itinerary email template rather than an account configuration problem.

Has anyone else experienced this recently? Could a Microsoft moderator please escalate this to the Outlook.com Events from Email team?

I will answer you in English based on your previous message. As a friendly suggestion, posting in Italian may help your question reach a wider audience and increase the chances of receiving assistance from other community members.

    Welcome Nicola Favaro,

Please note that our forum is a public platform, and we will modify your question to hide your personal information in the description. Kindly ensure that you hide any personal or organizational information the next time you post an error or other details to protect personal data.

Thank you for the detailed testing and for comparing the Ryanair and Wizz Air messages. Since “Events from email” is working with Wizz Air on the same Outlook.com account, it is helpful to narrow this down specifically to the Ryanair messages.

Microsoft currently lists both ryanair.com and care.ryanair.com as supported senders for flight reservations in “Events from email.”

Before going further, could you please confirm:

    • Does this happen with all recent Ryanair itinerary emails, or only this particular booking?
    • Was the Ryanair confirmation received directly from Ryanair, rather than forwarded from another email account?

Please try the step below to see if the issue is resolved:

    • Open Outlook.com and select Settings > Calendar > Events from email
    • Under Flights, select Don’t show event summaries in email or on my calendar, then save the change.
    • Sign out of Outlook.com, sign back in, return to the same setting, and select Show event summaries in email and on my calendar
    • Check the behavior with the next newly received Ryanair confirmation, since Microsoft notes that events are not created retroactively for past messages after Events from email is turned back on.

    Looking forward to your update.
