Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.
The error message 'Try another Verification method' appears if your account is temporarily suspended. I recommend that you switch to another Wi-Fi network and try resetting your Microsoft account password using the link here-
https://account.live.com/ResetPassword.aspx
Copy and paste the link above in an incognito tab and try resetting your @gmail.com account password by requesting the Verification code through your Phone number.
If it still isn't working, you have two options now:
- Replace your Security Information (Phone number) in your Microsoft account.
- Factory reset your PC to the defaults so that you can set up Windows with your new Microsoft account.
If you remove all of your previous security information and replace it with something new, your account will be put into a restricted state for 30 days.
2 Another option: Factory reset your PC.
Note: Running System Recovery will completely wipe all of your personal files on your HDD.
- Turn off your computer.
- When you see your PC manufacturer logo or Windows logo, turn off your computer by holding the power button on your laptop.
- Repeat the same process two times.
- On the third time, allow your device to boot into the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) screen.
Select Troubleshoot > Reset this PC > Remove Everything and proceed with local reinstall.
Once done, set up Windows with your existing Microsoft account.
If you have any questions, let me know.
