Python in Excel #CONNECT! error

I was using Python in Excel before, but it recently stopped working, I get #CONNECT! errors every time when I try to use it (even basic =PY("1+1")). I tried resetting runtime, didn't help.

It consistently happens in the Windows (2607) and the web version as well.

I'm logged into my personal @outlook.com account with personal Microsoft 365 subscription. (Tried updating the license, logging in/out, didn't help).

Since this happens both on the web and on desktop as well, different PCs, wired and mobile data connection, it rules out network connectivity issues or other local problems.

    Hi, Márton Hunyady

Since the same #CONNECT! error occurs in Excel for Windows and Excel for the web, across different computers and networks, this is unlikely to be a local Office or connection problem. Python calculations run in Microsoft’s cloud, so this points more toward a service or account-side Python runtime/provisioning issue.

Here are some suggestions you can try:

Select the error icon beside the cell, then choose Show Error Message. Note the exact message, especially whether it says Service not available, Resource not available, or Unable to upload.

Confirm Excel is on the Current Channel under File > Account. Python in Excel for Personal and Family subscriptions is still provided as a preview and requires the Current Channel.

In Excel, select Help > Feedback > Report a problem and include the exact error, Excel build, and Session ID from File > Account > About Excel.

Also contact Microsoft Support and ask them to escalate this as a Python in Excel cloud runtime/account provisioning issue. Mention that =PY("1+1") fails in both desktop and web, and that runtime reset, license refresh, multiple networks, and multiple devices have already been tested.
