My birth day is incorrect

Sorry for this unwanted experience. When a Microsoft account has a birth date that makes it look under-age, Microsoft locks the birth date field and applies Family Safety restrictions until an adult account gives consent or Microsoft Support resets the “child” flag.

Here are some suggestions you can try:

Try the official “adult but flagged as a child” correction flow.

Sign in to your profile page at account.microsoft.com/profile/edit-profile-information. If the birth date is greyed out or you’re told consent is required, follow the steps in How to change a birth date on a Microsoft account, which routes you through the consent and “Manage child accounts” page where the birth date can be edited. Child accounts cannot edit DOB directly, only the consenting adult can.

Contact Support specifically to remove the unknown family link and unlock the account.

Use support.microsoft.com/contact > type “Family Safety” or “account treated as child” > Get Help > Contact Support (chat). Ask them to remove your account from the unknown family group and correct the birth date / adult status after verifying you own the account. Only Microsoft can do backend removal when the organizer is unreachable or unauthorized.
