I've been trying to reach support for 3 days without success, I go to the online chat option and they only promise a call back.. what the hell is this? What does Microsoft think of itself? How the hell can I reach them?

May I please know if you have the product key with you?

Have you tried re-entering the product key?

Please try to check if your Microsoft Account is fully logged in on your machine.

And then go back to the steps above, choose I recently changed the hardware on this device.
A window will pop up, it will ask the device where it needs to be activated, check the box that says "This is the device I am using at the moment."

    And then click on Activate.

If in case you are still getting the same results,

Go to Settings, then Accounts, scroll down to Linked Devices. If you see duplicate Computer names, you will need to reach out to Microsoft Support to get help reactivating the machine after the BIOS update.

Microsoft does not have a direct phone number for Technical Support.

What Microsoft recommends is to use the Get Help option on your computer or Online Contact Support.

You can schedule a callback from a Microsoft Support Agent online.

    Follow the steps below.

    Go to this link https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/contactus/

Select the product you need help with

For example, Windows. On the Next Window, Choose Get Home Support.

On the Box that shows "We're here to help

Tell us your problem so we can get you the right help and support."

Type in the issue you are encountering in your case, it should be Windows Activation, and then press Enter.

Scroll down the page to see the ¨Contact Support¨option.

On the next page, choose the Products and services you need help with.

Depending on your issue, you will get either Chat with Microsoft Support Online or it will show ¨Provide your phone number and a support agent will call you¨.

Provide the necessary details, and then it should show ¨A service request has been opened¨ Wait for Microsoft Support's callback.

Hi, I am an Independent Advisor. Welcome to Microsoft Q&A.

Let me help you with this issue.

I understand you are seeing activate Windows after updating the BIOS.

May I please know if you bought the license separately?

Please follow the steps below to check the status of your license key.

Please click the Start menu, type in CMD, right-click, and run as administrator.

Then, on the command prompt window, type in

    slmgr -dli

This will show the kind of license that you have. It can be one of three types: Retail (FPP (Full Packaged Product)), OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer), and Volume Licensing. The last type is usually for organizations that have multiple license keys and are not for resale. It is the type that is most often used for pirate copies of Windows.

If it doesn't work with that command, type in this command instead, then press enter.

    slmgr /dlv

And then please copy and paste the result into our conversation. Thanks!

To check if your copy of Windows matches the key you have, please

Tap on Windows Key and the letter R on your keyboard to open the Run box, and in the Run box type winver, then press Enter. Please copy and paste the results here. Thanks!
