I have an active Microsoft 365 Family subscription and shared a seat with my wife. On my account page the sharing shows as active. On her account page the subscription appears as "shared and managed by" my account, and her OneDrive correctly shows 1 TB of storage — so the entitlement clearly reached her Microsoft account in the cloud.
The problem is only on the desktop apps. Word, Excel and the rest on her Windows 11 laptop show "Product Unlicensed / View Only". Clicking "Activate product" does absolutely nothing — no dialog appears, no error code, nothing at all.
Installed build: Microsoft 365 - he-il, Version 2608 (Build 20326.20100), consumer Click-to-Run.
She is signed into Office with the correct account (the one holding the shared license).
What I have already tried, none of which helped:
One detail that may be relevant: before the reinstall, the product status screen in Word showed "Your subscription has been cancelled" for Microsoft 365, even though my subscription has never lapsed. After the clean reinstall it changed to "View Only — this product has no license".
Since the license is visible in the cloud but the client cannot pull it, and the Licenses folder never regenerates, this looks like a licensing token or seat-assignment problem rather than a bad installation. Is there a way to force the seat to be re-assigned, or something else on the client I have missed?
Windows 11, no work or school account on the device, region and account country are both Israel. Happy to provide screenshots

Hello Merav Pirak
Thank you for providing such a thorough description and listing everything you have already tried.
Since the shared subscription appears correctly on your wife’s account and OneDrive has increased to 1 TB, the sharing invitation itself appears to have been accepted successfully. The remaining issue is that the desktop apps are not obtaining a local activation license.
As you have already reinstalled Office, cleared the stored credentials, verified the account, and removed the local licensing data. Please try the official Microsoft 365 activation troubleshooter in the Get Help app:
If it still remains unlicensed, the subscription owner can try stopping the share for her account and then sharing the subscription with her again. She should accept the new invitation using the same Microsoft account. Please make sure her files are backed up before making changes to the family group or subscription sharing.
Feel free reply back to this post if you need further assistance, I'll be happy to help.
