- Click on Start and search for "Device Manager" > open it.
- Click on the arrow beside "Mice and other pointing devices" to expand it
- Right click on your touchpad driver and select Uninstall device. Tick the Delete the driver software for this device check box > select Uninstall.
- Perform a perform a clean boot: https://support.microsoft.com/help/929135/how-t..., and go to Start > Settings > Update & security > Windows Update > Check for updates to reinstall the driver.
- Go back to the Device Manager > Click on the Action tab > select "Scan for hardware changes", and check if it will scan and reinstall your touchpad driver.
However, if the issue persist, kindly perform a repair install of your Windows which fixes the broken system files on your machine. Here is a guide: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/16397-repai...
There should be no worries in performing it since you will select the option to keep your files during the process.
I hope this helps. Good luck!
