That is great news, glad to help!
Stuck at 75% in Resseting your PC during factory reset for more than 5hrs
Hey guys,
need your help please as I'm kind of scared haha
Issue:
Wanted to start fresh and do some clean up in my PC so I did factory reset to delete everything (not keep anything), it's been 15hrs now and I'm now stuck at 75% for about 7hrs which makes me worry.
What I did:
Well first time I went through the recovery-> reset this PC-> Remove everything-> install windows from this location/device
and I think its failed during the installation for whatever reason
so I've booted, tried to login to my user that was there but windows couldn't do so said something about "no profile" or something like that
so I went through shift+restart-> troubleshoot->reset this PC but this time I pressed on keep data.
Went good, I could get into windows and desktop but I saw that my hardrives still contain data,
So again I went through recovery-> reset this PC-> delete everything, but this time if I'm not mistaken I chose install from cloud
So... it downloaded windows and started the process of resetting and now it's stuck at 75% for many hrs and I don't know what to do
What I don't have:
Funny enough, I don't have a USB drive with 8GB so I can't burn a windows installation on it
What I do have:
That USB from the windows box that I bought 3 years ago.
What can I do in this case guys?
- I just wait it out? it doesn't seems like it's frozen, like... the dots keep spinning around and it's not a frozen scenario
- Do something else which I don't know what to do haha
What I wanna do?
I want to wipe clean everything and start clean.
What I have is 2 hard drives, 1 is SSD in a box inside of the PC and 2 is an NVME card
Here is a screenshot of where I am, it says "Resetting the PC 75%" and the dots keep spinning

2024-08-16T12:03:22+00:00 yep, both of the drives are showing up
I just thought those partitions included some kind of backups like a windows install through the motherboard or something (not so tech savvy yet haha)
I'm connected through Ethernet cable but I do see the wifi now after getting some of the windows updates.
So I guess all good now?
Dave
Thank you so so so much !!!!
You saved me and you're a legend !
God bless you
have an amazing weekend

With regards to drivers, have you downloaded the network driver to get your Internet working?

2024-08-16T11:51:33+00:00 I need to do something with all those partitions that I've deleted during the installation back then?
So now everything is good? just need to start over and download drivers such and such as it's a brand new machine?
