La barre de défilement horizontale n'apparaît pas dans Word même lorsque le texte est hors écran.

Insérer un saut de page, passer au format paysage puis revenir au format portrait permet de le faire réapparaître.

Based on what you shared, since the horizontal scroll bar returns after changing the page orientation, this may be a display or layout refresh issue. Please check the scroll bar setting by going to File > Options > Advanced > scroll to the Display section, and make sure Show horizontal scroll bar is selected. After that, select OK, then maximize and restore the Word window.

Hi, Hendrix.

I'm writing in English because my high school French is rusty, but I found this thread in a search and it's the most recent one that addresses my problem. For a few weeks, I've been getting the disappearing horizontal scroll bar on random Word documents. I've verified

(Word) File > Options > Advanced > Display > Show horizontal scroll bar

(Windows) Settings > Accessibility > Visual effects > Always show scrollbars

(document, after above steps) Right-click > Maximize, then Right-click > Restore

And still there's no horizontal scroll bar, no matter how narrow I make my Word window. A wild guess is that it happens in about half the documents I open. It doesn't matter whether the document originated on my computer or was sent to me by a client. My system is Windows 11 Pro, MS Office Pro 2019 (desktop), everything auto-updated.

Is there anything else I can try?

Since the scrollbar is enabled in both Microsoft Word and Windows 11 Pro, and maximizing or restoring the window doesn't work, this helps rule out the usual scrollbar settings issue.

Please try the following steps to narrow down the issue:

Close all Word windows > press Windows + R and enter winword /a > OK to run

Open one of the affected documents and check whether the horizontal scrollbar appears

If the problem disappears when using winword /a: close Word > press Windows + R and enter %appdata%\Microsoft\Templates > find the Normal.dotm file > rename it to Normal.old, then restart Word

Sorry to say, winword /a didn't work. I'm running Microsoft® Word 2019 MSO (Version 2609 Build 16.0.20430.20032) 64-bit.

If that's the case, please try updating the apps through Word > File > Account > under Office Updates, select Update Options > Update Now. After that, restart Word and check whether the issue remains in an affected document.

Visual Basic montre que la barre horizontale devrait être affichée
J'ai seulement constaté le problème sur une ferme RDS qui utilise FSLogix et Windows Server 2025
Connexion RDP sans et avec FSLogix : problème idem
Connexion en mode console : problème idem

Étant donné que le problème survient également sans FSLogix et lors d'une session de console, il est peu probable que FSLogix ou la connexion RDP en soient la cause. Word et VBA détectent bien que la barre de défilement horizontale devrait être visible, mais celle-ci ne s'affiche apparemment pas à l'écran.

Pour obtenir de l'aide supplémentaire, veuillez fournir plus de détails sur la situation :

Le problème se produit-il avec un nouveau document vierge contenant un tableau ou un objet large ?

Quelle est la version et le numéro de build de Word ? Le même build d'Office présente-t-il ce problème sous Windows 11 ?

Essayez de lancer Word en utilisant la combinaison de touches Windows + R, puis en saisissant winword /a et en cliquant sur OK. Le problème persiste-t-il ?
