Azure SQL Database free offer fails in Mexico Central with ProvisioningDisabled

Hello,

I’m trying to create an Azure SQL Database for a university project using my Azure for Students subscription and the Azure SQL Database free offer.

The logical server was created successfully in Mexico Central, but creating the database fails with:

Code: ProvisioningDisabled

Message: Provisioning of free limit database is not supported for provided service level objective or region.

The configuration selected was General Purpose, Serverless, Gen5, 2 vCores, and 32 GB. Billing above the free offer limit was disabled.

I also tried other regions, but my subscription’s Allowed resource deployment regions policy blocked them.

Could you please clarify whether the free offer supports this configuration in Mexico Central for an Azure for Students subscription, and which region/configuration I can use without incurring charges?

Thank you.
