Azure / Microsoft Entra ID: AADSTS5000224 tenant deauthenticated after security suspension, unable to create support ticket
Hello Microsoft Support,
My personal Azure subscription was recently disabled after I received a notification stating that suspicious activity had been detected and that the subscription had been disabled for security reasons.
I am the legitimate owner of the Microsoft account and Azure subscription. I am not aware of the specific activity or resource that triggered this security action, and I would like to understand what happened so that I can correct any configuration or security issue if necessary.
Current issue
When I attempt to access the Azure Portal, authentication fails with the following error:
AADSTS5000224: The tenant 'Default Directory' has been deauthenticated and is no longer available.
Because the tenant itself is unavailable, I am also unable to create an Azure support request through the normal Azure Portal support process. When I try to access the support portal and authenticate, I am redirected back to the same AADSTS5000224 error.
Background and usage
This is a personal Azure account that I use primarily for learning, personal development, and university projects. I am currently a university student and use my available Azure credits to deploy and test cloud resources for academic and personal projects.
I also use the personal Azure environment because it gives me the flexibility to collaborate on university projects and manage access to resources when working with other students.
I have not intentionally used the subscription for any prohibited or malicious activity. If a resource, configuration, credential, or activity associated with my subscription triggered the security protection, I am willing to review and correct it.
Troubleshooting performed
- I tried signing in to the Azure Portal again.
- Authentication continues to fail with error
AADSTS5000224. - I tried accessing Azure Support to create a support request.
- I cannot complete the support request because authentication redirects me to the unavailable tenant.
Request
Could Microsoft please:
- Review the security suspension of my Azure subscription.
- Determine whether authentication can be restored for the affected tenant.
- Reactivate the Azure subscription if appropriate.
- If possible, provide information about the activity or resource that triggered the security action so I can address the issue and prevent it from happening again.
I can provide the Tenant ID, Subscription ID, administrator account, Trace ID, Correlation ID, screenshots, billing information, and any other information required to verify account ownership through a private channel.
As this Azure environment is used for my university projects and learning activities, recovering access would allow me to continue working with the existing resources and configurations.
Thank you for your assistance.
