Our Artifact Signing (formerly Trusted Signing) organization identity validation failed with the error "Email verification failed."

  • Identity validation ID: 8d8b633f-b100-472d-a78e-6d0e24c95066
  • Organization country: Spain
  • Request created: 1 September 2026

Timeline:

  • The initial identity validation notification arrived at our primary email address and we completed the step it asked for.
  • A request for additional documents then arrived at both our primary and secondary addresses. We uploaded the documentation.
  • The submitted document was reviewed and approved — it shows a green check mark in the portal.
  • The email containing the verification link was never received. Not in the inbox, not in junk/spam.
  • The same mailbox received every other Microsoft email related to this request, so it accepts external senders and messages containing links, and it is not a distribution list.
  • The portal shows no resend or re-verify option for the request.

So the only failed step is email verification, while the document review already succeeded.

Questions:

  1. Is there any way to have the verification email resent, or the email verification completed on Microsoft's side, without creating a new identity validation request and losing the already-approved documentation?
  2. If a new request is the only path, can it be submitted with a different primary email address? The FAQ says support must be contacted when an identity validation already exists with a primary email address.

We also have a Basic support plan, and the Azure portal does not let us open a technical support request for this. Any guidance on the correct escalation path would be appreciated.

I can provide tenant ID, subscription ID and mail server delivery logs privately if needed — I would rather not post them publicly here.

Update: I located the verification email. It was delivered correctly to the inbox on 2 September from [email protected] (display name "Microsoft Vetting S."), but it was overlooked because the other three notifications came from [email protected] under the display name "Microsoft Azure". The link then expired after seven days. There is no mail delivery issue on our side. I am creating a new identity validation request. Leaving this here in case it helps others — the verification email comes from a different sender and display name than the rest of the Artifact Signing notifications.
