Intermittent connectivity from Veeam Gateway Server to Azure Blob Storage through Private Endpoint

We are implementing a backup solution using Veeam Backup & Replication 12.3.2 with Microsoft Azure Blob Storage configured as an Object Storage Repository.

Access to the Azure Storage Account is provided through a Private Endpoint, using private DNS resolution and HTTPS communication over TCP port 443.

During pilot testing, we are experiencing an intermittent connectivity issue. Some backup jobs complete successfully, while other executions fail because the Gateway Server used to access the Object Storage Repository becomes unavailable.

The following errors have been observed:

“Failed to find a valid gateway server object storage repository. Gateway is unavailable.”

“Failed to synchronize object storage repository. Selected server is unavailable.”

The same configuration has successfully completed backups to Azure Blob Storage, so the issue appears to be intermittent.

We would like Microsoft Support to validate whether there is any Azure-side condition related to Azure Blob Storage, Private Endpoint connectivity, private DNS resolution, HTTPS/TCP 443 communication, connection resets, timeouts, or Storage Account networking restrictions that could explain this behavior.

Our objective is to confirm whether Azure Storage and Private Endpoint connectivity remain stable during the affected time windows and determine whether any Azure-side condition may be contributing to the issue.
