Linux (ubuntu 24.04) Updates solicita subscripcion a Ubuntu Pro

Hi CARRASCO ALVARO Vicente Emilio,

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Support.

Ubuntu 24.04 LTS is still supported. The UA_ESM_REQUIRED message appears because python3-pip and python3-wheel are Universe repository packages, and the listed security fixes are being offered through Ubuntu Pro’s ESM** **Apps service. Azure Update Manager identifies these Canonical updates but cannot install an update that requires an Ubuntu Pro entitlement.

Please run the following commands to confirm the package source:

Shell sudo apt update apt-cache policy python3-pip python3-wheel pro status

If the candidate version points to esm.ubuntu.com/apps, enable Ubuntu Pro on the VM and then update the packages:

Shell az vm update --resource-group <resource-group-name> --name <vm-name> --license-type UBUNTU_PRO sudo pro auto-attach sudo apt update sudo apt upgrade

Ubuntu Pro conversion is irreversible and may incur additional licensing charges. If Ubuntu Pro is not enabled, the VM can continue receiving standard Ubuntu 24.04 updates, but ESM-only updates will remain unavailable.
