Hello,

I am experiencing a persistent issue with the Microsoft Copilot Android application and would like to know if this is a known issue or if there are any compatibility concerns with Android 16 or Samsung One UI 8.5.

Device Information

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra (SM-S918U1)

Android 16

One UI 8.5

Google Play System Update: July 1, 2026

Microsoft Copilot version: 16.0.20416.20020

Issue Description

The Copilot Android app launches normally, recognizes my Microsoft 365 work account, and loads the work environment successfully. However, after approximately 10–15 seconds of use, the application closes automatically and returns to the Android home screen without displaying any error message.

Troubleshooting Already Performed

Factory reset of the phone.

Uninstalled and reinstalled Copilot from Google Play Store.

Cleared application cache.

Cleared application data.

Restarted the device.

Verified all Microsoft applications are updated.

Additional Findings

The following Microsoft applications work normally with the same Microsoft 365 work account:

Outlook

Word

Excel

PowerPoint

Microsoft Authenticator

As an additional test, I completely uninstalled the Copilot Android application and accessed Copilot through Microsoft Edge using the same corporate account.

Result: Copilot works normally through the browser and remains stable without any crashes.

Based on these tests:

My Microsoft account works correctly.

My Copilot license works correctly.

My Microsoft 365 tenant works correctly.

My device works correctly.

Copilot Web works correctly.

Only the Copilot Android application crashes.

Questions

Is this a known issue with Copilot Android on Android 16 or Samsung One UI 8.5?

Are there any known compatibility issues with Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra devices?

Is there a newer Android build of Copilot available than version 16.0.20416.20020?

Are there diagnostic logs or crash logs that Microsoft would like me to collect?

Is there an expected fix or update planned for this issue?

Thank you.

Please note that this is the Spanish Q&A Forum, any content should be posted in Spanish. However, based on your post, I will assist you in English today.

    Hello Erwin Borda,

I understand why you suspect a compatibility issue.

However, Microsoft Q&A is just a public, community-driven forum. Contributors here cannot access Microsoft’s internal bug records or speak on Microsoft’s behalf about whether this is a known issue or when it may be fixed.

I could not find any published Microsoft notice confirming a compatibility issue between Copilot version 16.0.20416.20020 and Android 16, One UI 8.5, or the Galaxy S23 Ultra. Therefore, I cannot reliably label it a known issue.

Since you already reinstalled the app, cleared its data, and factory-reset the phone, repeating those steps is unlikely to help. For now:

    • Continue using Copilot through Edge, which you confirmed works.
    • Submit feedback through the Copilot app if possible.
    • Ask your Microsoft 365 administrator to open a support request and provide the device, Android, One UI, and Copilot version details.
