Teams add-in for Outlook: recorded meetings saved without title

Hello Microsoft Community,

We are experiencing an issue with the Microsoft Teams add-in for Outlook. Every time we schedule a meeting through Outlook and the meeting is recorded, the recording appears in Teams without a title, showing only as “(untitled).”

This situation makes it difficult to identify and manage recordings, especially when we have multiple meetings in the same day.

Additional details:

Outlook and Teams are updated to the latest available versions.

The Teams add-in is enabled in Outlook.

The behavior occurs consistently with all recorded meetings.

Has anyone else encountered this issue? Is there a configuration or update that ensures recordings are saved with the correct meeting title?

Thank you in advance for any guidance or solutions.

Best regards,

Hi Administrador,

Good day. Thank you for sharing the details about your situation.

As this is a user-to-user community forum, I do not have the ability to directly access or modify your account or service. However, I can provide guidance, recommend next steps, share applicable resources, and direct you to the appropriate support channels so the issue can be investigated further.

Based on the information provided, this behavior may be related to how the Outlook meeting title is passed to Microsoft Teams and then applied to the recording file during processing.

Teams meeting recordings are typically saved to the meeting organizer’s OneDrive for work or school, or to SharePoint if the meeting is associated with a Teams channel. Because of this, it is useful to check whether the recording file itself is also saved as “(untitled)” in OneDrive or SharePoint, or whether only the Teams interface is displaying the recording that way.

To help narrow down the issue, here are some steps you can try:

1/ Check the original recording file name

  • For a standard Teams meeting, go to the meeting organizer’s OneDrive.
  • Open the Recordings folder.
  • Confirm whether the recording file name is also shown as “(untitled)” there.

2/ Test scheduling from Microsoft Teams directly

  • Create a new test meeting from the Teams calendar.
  • Add a clear meeting title.
  • Record the meeting.
  • Check whether the recording keeps the correct title.

3/ Compare with a meeting scheduled from Outlook

  • Create another test meeting from Outlook using the Teams meeting option.
  • Add a clear subject before sending the invite.
  • Record the meeting and compare the result.

4/ Restart Outlook and Teams

  • Fully quit both Outlook and Teams.
  • Start Microsoft Teams first.
  • Then open Outlook and create a new Teams meeting.

5/ Try creating the meeting title before enabling Teams meeting

  • Enter the meeting subject/title first.
  • Add attendees, date, and time.
  • Then enable the Teams meeting option and send the invite.

Additional guidance:

If the same behavior continues to occur across multiple meetings or multiple users, I recommend submitting a support ticket with Microsoft Support through the Microsoft 365 Admin Center. They have access to system-level diagnostics and can investigate the problem more thoroughly. At the very least, they can provide the most effective workaround to ensure your experience remains smooth and secure.

I hope this helps move the case forward. Should you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please feel free to share them in the comment below. I'm very happy to help.
