Cuenta Hackeada

Microsoft, how many times does a parent have to ask for help before someone takes responsibility?

My 14-year-old son's Microsoft account was apparently hacked on October 23, leaving him unable to access Minecraft or his Outlook account.

The recovery process now points to an unknown email address ending in @kidnap.life, which neither of us recognizes.

I contacted Microsoft Support and provided everything I could to prove ownership: personal information, the IP address of his computer, screenshots, a video showing the problem, and even a partially redacted copy of his ID.

Microsoft's response? They closed the case because they couldn't verify ownership.

Case reference: SIR25005995.

Even worse, Microsoft's recovery form says the account doesn't exist, while its registration system indicates that the same email address is already taken.

How is a parent supposed to recover a stolen account when Microsoft's own recovery system prevents us from completing the verification process?

This is not simply about losing access to Minecraft. This is about the security of a minor's personal information and a company failing to provide a workable solution.

I am not asking Microsoft to bypass its security procedures. I am asking for a proper investigation, a meaningful review of the evidence already submitted, and a clear, effective path to recover my son's account.

Microsoft, closing support tickets is not the same as solving problems.

I am publicly requesting that Microsoft escalate this matter to its account security team and provide a real solution.

My son deserves better protection. And as a parent, I deserve more than another automated response.

    Hello

It sounds like your account might have been hacked and taken over. It also sounds like you filled out the account recovery form, which is not for account takeover scenario.

I am so sorry this happened. Please fill out the Recover My Account form instead. I know their names are so similar. https://aka.ms/recovermyaccount

Instruction for each field can be found here: https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/manage/guidance-notes-for-the-microsoft-account-recovery-form

Contact email: Use an email address you currently have access to. This is where Microsoft can contact you regarding your request.

Response time: A response may take around 5 business days, although this is not guaranteed. Please save this to your safe sender: [email protected]

Dates: Pay close attention to the required date format. This is an area where users sometimes make mistakes because it is asking for US date format.

Account information: Provide as much accurate information as possible. If you genuinely don't know an answer, it is better to leave it blank if allowed rather than guess.

Device and location: If possible, complete the form using a computer, Wi-Fi network, and location you normally use to access your account. This may help Microsoft recognize your usual sign-in activity.

    ============================

Also, to avoid any misunderstanding or false expectations, I'm an independent community user. I can help you navigate and make sure you are using the right tool/resources, but I don't have access to your account and cannot manually recover or unblock it. The final decision is made by the account security review team, so I cannot guarantee the outcome.

Microsoft Support also cannot bypass the required account verification or reinstatement process.

Lastly, please don't share any passwords, verification codes, or other private account information here, as this is a public forum.

    Hi Emily,

First of all, thank you very much for taking the time to read my case and respond. I really appreciate your help.

Yes, I have already completed the form you mentioned. The problem is that when I try to recover my son's account, Microsoft tells me that the account doesn't exist. However, when I try to create a new account using exactly the same email address, Microsoft tells me that it already exists.

So I'm basically stuck in a loop with no way out.

I've contacted Microsoft Support several times, provided all the information they requested, and explained the situation in detail. Unfortunately, they keep closing my cases without solving anything. I understand that there are security procedures to follow, but I honestly don't know what else I can do.

My son is only 14 years old, and he's desperate to get his account back. As his father, it's very frustrating to see him going through this while Microsoft seems unable to offer us any real help.

Emily, may I ask you something? Do you happen to know of any Microsoft customer service phone number where I could speak to someone in Spanish and explain the situation directly? Or perhaps another way to contact Microsoft that doesn't involve filling out yet another form?

At this point, I would really appreciate the opportunity to speak with a real person who can understand what's happening and help us find a solution.

Thank you again for your kindness and for taking the time to help us. I truly appreciate it.

    Best regards,

    Enrique
