Hello,

This issue concerns Microsoft Entra ID tenant administration, not Azure RBAC. I selected this category because Microsoft Entra ID was not available in the category list.

I am completely locked out of my Microsoft Entra ID tenant after converting the only Global Administrator from an external/B2B user to an internal user.

Before the conversion, the only Global Administrator was an external/B2B user associated with my personal Microsoft account.

After converting that user to an internal user:

  • My original personal Microsoft account no longer has access to the tenant.
  • The internal user resulting from the conversion cannot be used to sign in.
  • There are no other Global Administrators or administrator accounts in the tenant.

I can still open some parts of the Azure portal with my personal Microsoft account, but I no longer have access to the directory, subscriptions or billing scopes.

When I try to create a support request from Azure Portal, authentication fails with error AADSTS50058, so I cannot open a support ticket from the affected tenant.

I have already tried Microsoft phone support, Microsoft Support chat and Azure Support, but I am repeatedly redirected to the Azure portal, where I cannot create a support request because of this authentication issue.

I need assistance recovering administrative access to the existing tenant. I believe this requires escalation to the Data Protection / Tenant Recovery team.

I am the original creator/owner of the tenant and can provide the Tenant ID, onmicrosoft.com domain, Azure account information, screenshots and any other information required to verify ownership privately.

Could a Microsoft moderator please help me initiate or escalate a Tenant Recovery / Data Protection case?

Thank you.
