Issue with verification codes sent to old email address

Hello, some time ago my Hotmail account was hacked. I managed to recover it, but for security reasons I had to change my primary email address and password.

The problem is that many of my accounts (for example, games like Hytale) still send verification codes to my old email address, which I no longer have access to. In my Microsoft profile, the old email appears under "Other email addresses," but my current primary email is different.

I need help updating my registered email address so that verification codes are sent to my new email. I can provide additional information to verify my identity if required.

Thank you for your support.

Hi @Sebastian

I’m sorry to hear about the difficulties you experienced after your account was compromised.

Please note that changing the primary email address on your Microsoft account does not automatically update the email registered with third-party services such as Hytale. You will need to update the email address directly in each service’s account settings. If the service requires a verification code sent to the inaccessible address, please contact that service’s support team and ask them to update the registered email after verifying your ownership.

For verification codes related to your Microsoft account, sign in to the Security page, select Manage how I sign in, and add your current email as a new verification method. Verify the new address before removing the old method. Please do not remove all security information at once, as this may place the account under a 30-day restriction.

You can review the official guidance here: Microsoft account security information and verification codes

Please feel free to let me know if you have any further updates, thanks.
