Students can check their progress, I only receive higher grade, and I'm unable to embed it to the government's official learning platform.

Dear @LORENA IBARRA MARTÍNEZ,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum.

I understand you're encountering an issue with Microsoft Reading Coach, where you (as the educator) only see higher-level progress or aggregate grades, and you're unable to embed it directly into your government’s official learning platform. Based on your description and my research, this behavior aligns with how Reading Coach is designed and integrated.

Here’s how it works:

  • For students: They can see detailed progress, including words practiced, fluency scores, and achievements.
  • For educators: You typically see higher-level summaries (e.g., class trends, top performers) rather than detailed per-student breakdowns for independent practice. This data is usually available through specific assignments or guided sessions.

Reading Coach is embedded in Teams Assignments via Reading Progress. Here, students record their readings, submit them, and receive coaching practice. Educators can create assignments with Reading Coach enabled by default, and grades/feedback will sync back.

If you're only seeing higher-level summaries, be sure to check Assignments > Insights or the specific Reading Progress assignment in Teams. These views give you more detailed data and insights into your students’ progress.

Unfortunately, direct embedding (e.g., pasting an iframe or link) isn't supported due to security, privacy, and functionality concerns. Reading Coach relies on Microsoft authentication, AI features, and progress tracking, which cannot be fully integrated with external systems without the appropriate setup.

If your government’s official learning platform is not one of the supported LTI platforms (such as Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard, Brightspace by D2L, Schoology, or others using LTI 1.3), embedding may not work. Many government/national platforms use custom or proprietary systems that may not yet support Microsoft 365 LTI integrations.

Contact your IT/admin team or the platform's support to ask if the Microsoft 365 LTI is enabled (or can be enabled).

If yes:

  • Enable it in your course/LMS settings (often under integrations or apps).
  • Toggle Reading Coach on in course settings (via the Microsoft Education placement or profile menu).
  • Students can then access Reading Coach directly in the LMS (no separate login needed), practice independently, and you can guide/track via the integrated view. Progress may sync better this way.

For reference: Access Reading Coach in the Microsoft 365 LTI.

Use Reading Coach Standalone or via Teams

  • Go to coach.microsoft.com, sign in with your school Microsoft account (Entra ID).
  • Create guided practice sessions: As teacher, set up sessions with titles, due dates, passages (from library or custom), and share a join code with students. They join via the code (web or Windows app), practice, and you see progress in Reading Coach teacher mode.
  • For detailed student views: Switch to teacher mode in Reading Coach to monitor sessions; combine with Teams Assignments for graded submissions if needed.

If LTI Isn't an Option

  • Share the web link (coach.microsoft.com) or specific session join codes in your platform's announcements, resources, or modules. Students open it in a new tab/browser.
  • Have students screenshot/share their achievements or use Teams/OneNote for submissions if embedding isn't possible.
  • Create a service request with Microsoft Support. A technical support engineer can perform a remote session to investigate the situation, verify the backend configurations, and run any necessary synchronization tools to resolve the problem. If the issue requires further attention, they can escalate it to a specialized team for deeper analysis. Ask The Global Admin in your organization to create a service request with Microsoft support to get advanced technical assistance and diagnostics. For detailed instructions on how to get support, please refer to Get support - Microsoft 365 admin. If you don't know who your IT administrator is, please refer to this article: How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin? - Microsoft Support  For additional assistance, use this link to find the appropriate contact number from your region: Global Customer Service phone numbers - Microsoft Support

I hope this information helps clarify the situation and provides you with workable solutions. Should you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out. We're always here to help. Have a wonderful day!
