Using the New Outlook for Mac for personal email and calendar
In Outlook for Mac, open Help > Contact Support to start a conversation directly with an Outlook support agent.^1^
Start an in-app support conversation
- Open Outlook for Mac.
- On the macOS menu bar, select Help > Contact Support.
- Select Continue to permit collection of Outlook diagnostic logs.
- Enter your name, email address, and a clear description of the mail problem.
- Select Start Conversation.
Replies appear in Outlook, and macOS should display a notification when the agent responds.
If “Contact Support” is missing
The option requires Outlook for Mac version 15.34 (170515) or later and is unavailable in the free version of Outlook. It can also be hidden when connected experiences or optional diagnostic data have been disabled.^1^
Check:
- Outlook > Settings (or Preferences) > Privacy
- Ensure connected experiences and Send additional diagnostic and usage data to Microsoft are enabled.
- If these settings are controlled by an organization, contact its Microsoft 365 administrator.
If selecting Contact Support does nothing:
- Close Outlook and all other Office applications.
- Press Command+Space, search for Keychain Access, and open it.
- Select File > Lock All Keychains.
- Select File > Unlock Keychain “login.”
- Reopen Outlook and try Help > Contact Support again.^1^
Web chat, callback, or phone support
If in-app support is unavailable, open Microsoft’s customer-support page and choose Get help under technical support. Describe the Outlook problem and sign in when requested. Microsoft will present the options available for the product, subscription, account, and region; these may include chat.^2^
A callback or regional telephone number may also be offered. Phone availability and numbers vary by country or region, so use the country list on that same official support page rather than calling a number found through an unofficial search.
Support agents cannot access or change account details or send password-reset links. If the problem is specifically that the Microsoft account cannot sign in, use the account sign-in helper offered on the support page.^2^
