Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
If Services & subscriptions shows the Microsoft 365 subscription as active and the next payment is due in 2027, the subscription itself is likely already paid.
For this situation, use this check order:
- Go to Services & subscriptions and confirm there is no past-due balance and the subscription status is active.
- Go to Payment options and check whether the current PayPal payment method shows any error.
- If the emails continue, be cautious with them. Microsoft notes that phishing emails about non-payment issues can occur, so avoid clicking links in the email and go directly to the Microsoft account pages instead.
- If the account pages show everything is current, the notices can be leftover or delayed sync messages. Similar reported cases indicate payment status can take up to 24 hours to fully sync across services.
- If the warning is also appearing inside Office apps, sign out of Office in Word, restart the Mac, and sign back in.
- If the emails keep coming after the account still shows active and paid, contact Microsoft Support through Contact Support.
For PayPal specifically, Microsoft states that PayPal must have a credit card or confirmed bank account as its funding source. If payment problems recur, verify that the linked funding source is valid and not expired.
