My Trust bluetooth mouse isn't connecting with my laptop. I tried almost everything. The red light beneath the mouse buttons keeps flickering, but it should be green. My bluetooth is on and I have the newest of the newest updates. It can't connect! What do I have to do? PS English is not my native language, so there might be some errors in this message and I hope you can answer a bit easy. So not with hard words and like that.

The AI message wasn't helpful, but it somehow began working when I holded (?) the button below the mouse. So the problem is solved! 👌

    Hi sgg,

I understand how frustrating this is, especially after you have already tried many steps. I will keep the instructions simple.

Because the light is flashing red instead of green, please first install a new battery and check that it is placed in the correct direction. Then turn off Bluetooth on any phone, tablet, or other computer that previously used this mouse. The mouse may still be trying to connect to an old device.

Next, put the mouse into pairing mode again. On many Trust mice, you need to press and hold the Bluetooth or Connect button for several seconds until the light starts flashing quickly. The exact steps can be different for each model, so please check the model number printed under the mouse.

On the laptop, go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Add device > Bluetooth. Please let me know whether the name of the mouse appears there.

You can also try these two quick tests:

Try connecting another Bluetooth device to the laptop.

Try connecting the mouse to another computer, phone, or tablet.

If other Bluetooth devices connect normally but this mouse does not work on any device, the problem is likely with the mouse itself rather than Windows.

Microsoft’s Bluetooth troubleshooting guide may also help: Fix Bluetooth problems in Windows.

Could you share the exact Trust mouse model and confirm whether its name appears when you select Add device? Please do not share any serial number. Thank you so much for your understanding.

    Try these steps in order:

    1. Make sure the mouse is ready to pair.
      • Check that the mouse is turned on.
      • Make sure the battery is charged or put in fresh batteries.
      • Keep the mouse close to the laptop.
      • Turn the mouse off, wait a few seconds, then turn it on again.
    2. Remove the mouse from Windows and add it again.
      • Go to Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices.
      • Find the mouse.
      • Select More options (…) > Remove device.
      • Then select Add device and try to pair the mouse again.
    3. Turn Bluetooth off and on again.
      • Go to Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices.
      • Turn Bluetooth off.
      • Wait 10 seconds.
      • Turn Bluetooth on again.
      • Try pairing the mouse again.
    4. Restart the laptop.
      • Select Start > Power > Restart.
    5. Check the mouse on another PC if possible.
      • If the mouse does not work on another PC either, the mouse may need to be replaced.
    6. If Bluetooth still does not work, run the Bluetooth troubleshooter.
      • On Windows 11, run the automated Bluetooth troubleshooter in the Get Help app.

If Windows asks for a PIN and none is shown, try 0000 or 1234.

The red light on the mouse can mean the mouse is not ready or not staying connected. Since Windows is already updated, the most useful next steps are: check the battery, remove and add the mouse again, and test the mouse on another PC.
