Organization validation failed requesting documents, but no upload option was offered

My Artifact Signing organization validation for GLOBAL POWER TRADER LLC changed to Failed with a message requesting business documents dated within the past 12 months.

The application never offered a business-document upload, and the notification email only links back to the portal. I have the official business-registration document ready, but no way to submit it.

How can I securely provide the document to the validation team? Can the existing request continue, or must I create a new organization validation request?

My Azure Basic support plan prevents me from completing a technical support ticket. Please advise how to obtain assistance with this validation issue.

Email [Email] and ask the Artifact Signing validation team to provide an approved secure upload method and determine whether the existing failed validation can continue; this mailbox is identified in an accepted Microsoft Q&A answer for the same “documents requested but no upload option” symptom.^1^

    Use a subject such as:

Artifact Signing organization validation Failed — documents requested but no upload option — [Identity Validation ID]

    Include:

    • Organization legal name: GLOBAL POWER TRADER LLC
    • Identity Validation ID
    • Azure subscription ID and tenant ID
    • Artifact Signing account name and Azure region
    • UTC date/time when the status changed to Failed
    • The exact portal message
    • A screenshot showing Failed and the missing upload control
    • A request to confirm whether the existing validation can be resumed or whether a new request is required

Do not attach the business document to the initial email. Ask for an approved secure submission channel first. Do not place the document or identifiers in a public Q&A post.

    Can the failed request continue?

There is no documented self-service operation to upload documents to, or reopen, a validation already marked Failed. The normal workflow is:

    1. A document request changes the status to Action Required.
    2. The applicant follows the portal/email instructions.
    3. The request returns to In Progress after the required action.
    4. The final state becomes Completed or Failed.^2^

Because your request skipped the usable Action Required upload stage and is already Failed, only the validation team can determine whether it is recoverable. Preserve the validation ID, screenshots, and email; do not delete the request until the team tells you whether to replace it.

If Microsoft confirms that it cannot continue:

    • Follow its direction on creating a new validation request.
    • Enter the legal organization name, address, website, and business identifier exactly as shown in current public business records.
    • Ensure both organization-domain mailboxes accept external messages containing links.
    • Be aware that the official FAQ says a non-email-related failure means the validation team could not determine the request from the supplied information; in some cases onboarding cannot proceed. It also states that document requests have a maximum of three submission attempts.^3^

Do not create multiple replacement requests while waiting for a decision. A new request is not a documented way to recover this anomalous missing-upload workflow.

Assistance without a paid technical-support plan

The official no-paid-ticket alternative is to post on Microsoft Q&A using the Artifact Signing tag and request private engagement from Microsoft staff. The Artifact Signing FAQ explicitly lists both Azure Support and Microsoft Q&A as identity-validation assistance channels.^3^

    In the public post:

    • Describe the transition to Failed and the absent upload control.
    • State that the support plan prevents creating a technical ticket.
    • Ask for escalation to the Artifact Signing validation/vetting team.
    • Do not publish the validation ID, subscription ID, tenant ID, documents, or unredacted screenshots. Offer to provide them privately to Microsoft staff.

The direct mailbox is the most case-specific escalation route available, but it comes from an accepted Microsoft Q&A answer rather than the primary Artifact Signing documentation; it does not guarantee that the failed request can be reopened.
