Artifact Signing organization validation failed after successful personal Verified ID; how can Basic-support customers request review?

I am setting up Azure Artifact Signing Public Trust organization validation for a US company. The personal Verified ID presentation completed successfully and Microsoft's page explicitly showed verification success. Shortly afterward, the separate organization validation changed to Failed.

The Azure request details and status notification provide no failure reason or corrective action. I want to understand what needs correction before submitting another application or repeating a completed identity check.

I followed the Artifact Signing / Identity Validation - Organization / Validation Failed support path. At Additional details, Azure says the subscription's Basic support plan cannot create technical support tickets.

Could a Microsoft moderator advise how to obtain an account-specific review of this validation failure through an appropriate private channel? Can the existing request be reviewed, and how should we determine the specific information to correct if a new request is necessary?

I can provide the validation request identifiers privately to an authorized Microsoft support representative. Please do not request identity documents or verification links in this public thread.

A successful personal Verified ID presentation completes only the representative-identification step; first rule out the separate organization email verification, then request moderator-assisted escalation through this Artifact Signing Q&A thread or use an entitled Azure technical-support plan for a guaranteed private support channel.

    1. Check the separate organization email-verification step

After individual validation succeeds, the organization request returns to In Progress while Microsoft continues validation. It can separately require email verification or supporting documents before reaching Completed or Failed.^1^

Check the primary email address entered on the organization request for a separate verification message:

    • Search Inbox and Junk/Spam.
    • Check whether security filtering blocked messages containing external links.
    • Confirm with the email administrator that the mailbox accepts external messages and links.
    • Check whether a verification link was received but not opened within seven days.

If that separate link was missed or expired, Microsoft documents that it cannot be resent for the same request; create a new identity-validation request. When email validation failed or the message never arrived, use an individual monitored mailbox on the organization’s domain—not a distribution list.^2^

If the separate email verification was completed, or no email action was pending, do not repeat the already-successful Verified ID process merely because the overall organization request failed. The failed status means the organization process did not complete successfully; it does not expose which organization check failed.

    2. Request account-specific review through Q&A

The Artifact Signing FAQ identifies two assistance channels: Azure Support and Microsoft Q&A with the Artifact Signing tag.^2^

Because this thread already uses that tag, ask a Microsoft moderator to:

    1. Escalate the existing failed validation to the Artifact Signing identity-validation/vetting team.
    2. Arrange a private method for collecting the validation request ID, subscription ID, Artifact Signing account/resource details, and timestamps.
    3. Confirm whether the existing request can be reviewed or whether a corrected replacement is required.
    4. Identify the exact field or evidence category that must be corrected, if disclosure is permitted.

Do not post request IDs, identity documents, verification links, subscription identifiers, or screenshots containing personal data publicly. Q&A moderators have arranged backend review in comparable Artifact Signing cases, including review of an existing failed request, but this is a case-handling precedent rather than a documented entitlement or guaranteed response path.^3^

    3. Basic support limitation and private ticket options

Azure provides subscription-management support without a paid plan, but technical support requires a support plan.^4^ Organization-validation diagnosis is a technical/account-specific investigation, so Basic support does not provide a guaranteed private technical-review channel.

Before purchasing a plan, check whether the organization already has support benefits:

    1. Azure portal → Help + Support.
    2. Under Support, select Support Plans.
    3. Select Link support benefits.
    4. Enter the organization’s Access ID and Contract ID, if it has an eligible support agreement.^4^

If no benefits are available, obtaining an eligible technical-support plan and opening a ticket is the documented entitled route. From the Artifact Signing resource, select Support + Troubleshooting → Create a support request, choose the Artifact Signing organization-validation failure path, and include the existing request ID privately. A support entitlement guarantees access to technical support, not a particular validation outcome.

Avoid creating duplicate requests while one for the same entity remains In Progress, because the FAQ says additional requests do not help in that state.^2^ If Microsoft ultimately cannot validate the organization, the FAQ states that onboarding cannot proceed and recommends deleting the unused Artifact Signing account to avoid charges.
