Microsoft for Startups – Unable to access original enrollment or request additional Azure credits

ARRVL is a Canadian technology startup that previously received Azure startup credits directly through Microsoft.

Those credits supported the early development of our AI-powered housing administration platform.

Since then, we’ve successfully developed and deployed our technology with a Canadian community housing provider, using Azure services including Cosmos DB, Document Intelligence, virtual machines, and storage.

Unfortunately, we were never able to access the Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub process to report our progress or request additional credits.

Our original Azure subscription is now operating on Pay-As-You-Go.

We recently attempted to access Microsoft for Startups using a new personal Microsoft account. Although the startup portal displayed an initial credit offer, the Azure activation process failed with an eligibility error after payment verification.

We’ve also been unable to submit a support ticket through the normal Microsoft support channels.

Could a Microsoft moderator help us identify our original startup enrollment and connect us with Microsoft for Startups Program Support to review our eligibility for additional Azure credits?

We can provide our original subscription details, screenshots, and information about our product development and Azure usage privately.

Thanks. I tried the Microsoft for Startups Program Support link provided above while signed into the Microsoft account associated with ARRVL’s existing Azure subscription. It redirects me back to the Microsoft for Startups page, which states: “This account can’t be used for Microsoft for Startups credits. Sign in with an eligible Microsoft account to access this offer.”

I therefore still cannot access Program Support or create a support request.

ARRVL previously received Microsoft startup credits, is now operating on Azure Pay-As-You-Go, and we are trying to have our original startup enrollment reviewed and determine whether we are eligible for additional credits.

Could a Microsoft moderator please help escalate this to Microsoft for Startups Program Support or provide a way to contact the team directly?

Microsoft for Startups Program Support—not a public Q&A moderator—must review the original enrollment, account ownership, and eligibility privately through Azure portal → startup homepage → Overview → Your Microsoft Team → Get program support.^1^

    Submit the program-support case

    1. Sign in to the Azure portal using an account that can access the current ARRVL Azure subscription.
    2. Open the startup homepage.
    3. On Overview, locate Your Microsoft Team.
    4. Select Get program support.
    5. Request:
      • Identification of ARRVL’s original Microsoft for Startups enrollment.
      • Confirmation of the Microsoft account associated with that enrollment and sponsorship.
      • Correction or reassignment of the owner account, if appropriate.
      • Review of the new account’s “not eligible” activation result.
      • Clarification of whether ARRVL may reapply or qualify for further credits.

Program Support explicitly covers application/reapplication questions, Azure credit activation, entitlement ownership corrections, business verification, and benefit or portal issues.^1^

Include these items in the private ticket:

    • Legal startup name and registered Canadian business address.
    • Original Azure subscription ID and current Pay-As-You-Go subscription ID.
    • Original sponsorship or billing-account details visible under Cost Management + Billing.
    • Every email address or Microsoft account that may have been used for the original enrollment.
    • Approximate enrollment and credit-expiration dates.
    • Screenshots of the offer and exact eligibility error.
    • Payment-verification date and outcome.
    • Evidence of the deployed product and community-housing engagement.
    • A request to preserve or reconnect existing workloads if an entitlement correction is possible.

Do not post subscription IDs, billing details, screenshots, or account addresses publicly in this Q&A thread.

If “Get program support” is unavailable

Use Microsoft’s dedicated startup-support entry point:

    https://aka.ms/startuphelp-mfs-portal

Microsoft specifically directs users who receive “You aren't eligible for this offer” to that support channel.^2^

For an older enrollment that still opens in the Microsoft for Startups portal, the documented alternate path is:

    1. Sign in to the Microsoft for Startups portal.
    2. Select the ? icon in the upper-right corner.
    3. Select Submit a Support Ticket.
    4. Attach the eligibility-error screenshots and enrollment evidence.^3^

    Important account limitation

Creating another personal Microsoft account does not reconnect it to the original enrollment. Startup benefits must be activated using the same Microsoft account used for program registration, and credits cannot be transferred to another Microsoft account after redemption.^4^

Therefore, avoid making further activation attempts with additional new accounts. Ask Program Support to identify the original account association and determine whether an entitlement ownership correction or reapplication is available. Program Support can clarify eligibility and reapplication requirements, but it cannot override an eligibility decision.^4^
